"Ordered a take away fried rice. Looks simple and yet the taste of it once opened up, the fragrance smells so good and makes me can't wait to try a bite of it. Simple yet not easy to hold its "wok hey" (the heat) while fried it. Uncle has been operating it for 44yrs...time n experience do tells a gd chef skill."
"One of the best places I have ever eaten. Old couple that’s run the shop for 40+ years, going back as i write this for the Guinness chicken and Hakka style fried pork with a koppi. Please go here!!"
"Friendly auntie patiently taken our order and always smelling. Traditional and Ko Cha Bi chur char. Fried fish and “Shark Fin” tofu is good. Next time maybe would try noodle or other dishes."
"An epic Chinese restaurant that i used to revisit, a 40 years old shop I’m craving for CharHorFun, here is one of the best that I would like to promote. Traditional way, tastes really yummy, “wok hei” that not easy to find anywhere else. There are many other choices available, worth pay a visit. The owner is getting old, hopefully they are still here when you have chance to visit them."
"Simple menu by an old couple. Service is fast n attentive in a weekday lunch. Fried fish is crispy. Fresh green vege fried with garlic is great. Seaweed soup is plain n complementing the rice"
"42 years old couple operated choo char in Penang. The owners are very attentive and friendly. My friend took us here, he has been eating since his childhood days some good 30+ years .. we order 2 vegetables and 2 fish .. fish really fresh and loved their fried black pompret in special sauce, and their assam curry was good but could use a little more kick (boss says next order remind them) their fried kangkung sambal was nice and so was their fried kanna."
"I came here on a December Tuesday evening. No wait, but all the seats were filled up very fast. Great food here, I felt the sauce is really special. I tried the 3 sauce deep fried fish, Guinness stout deep fried chicken, and brinja with minced pork. Really yummy! Authentic Penang taste.. Will come again if I next visit Penang."
"Fok Kee is an old school diner that has been around since 1982. Located in the heart of Georgetown’s UNESCO heritage site, it brings out the charm of sitting on pavements for your meal like in the 1980s. Most known for its fish dishes and meat marinated in Guinness Stout, it has a friendly lady proprietor who offered great service. No corkage if you bring your own liquor."
